One of my favorite christian women to watch and listen to is Nancy Leigh DeMoss.  If you haven't attended at True Woman's Event it is excellent!!  There is one coming up shortly in September.  I would highly encourage any woman to go and be ready to have your heart encouraged. My heart was not only encouraged but, God revealed some sin issues to me that needed immediate attention.  Such a wonderful time in my life.  The first thing I read when I opened my laptop this morning was a wonderful quote from Nancy. "If you're a child of God, the ordeal you're undergoing, however wrong or unfair, in His providence and skillful hands will be used to take you deeper to a place of greater dependence and trust." -Nancy Leigh DeMoss, from the book Choosing Forgiveness This was just what I needed to read.  There are many things going on in our lives right now that could fall in the ordeal, wrong or unfair category.  It's easy to become sidetracked when wading through those things in life.  It's easy to look around and to start to feel sorry for myself instead of to look up and praise Him.  He has a reason for everything.  I want and long for a deeper relationship and greater trust and dependence on the Lord.  I love that even though some things are not easy to go through that He is going to use them to cultivate new growth in me and a greater heart of gratitude and love for Him. We all have a storm, struggles and hardships we go through.  A huge part of life is how we choose to go through these times.  Do we place our life and every detail in His care, knowing He is enough? Do we choose to worry and become anxious about everything?  Do we have a pity party and become selfish...poor me?  I have done each of these things many many times.  Each day it's a choice we must make, will we depend fully on Him or to let our sinful heart do the talking?  Well, this is helpful....

Jeremiah 17:9

"The heart is deceitful above all things,     and desperately sick;     who can understand it?"

We cannot trust our heart.  There are a million catchy sayings about the heart, not many of them are close to being the truth!

One thing I learned recently is that when I don't trust in Him with my future and with my everything I am saying, He is not enough!  He is not able.  He is not trustworthy.  But, He is!

Ephesians 3:14-20

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,  from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,"

Did you catch all of that deep goodness? He is able "to do FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY  than ALL that we can ASK or THINK?" I love the part before that....it's the WHY.  Why will He do these things?  Because of the gospel.  God wants us to have the strength comprehend the breadth, length, height and depth...to know the LOVE of Christ....that YOU may be filled with all the fullness of God!

Fill me Lord!  Fill me with the fullness of God!  I was encouraged today to give my hurts, trials, circumstances and even the good things over to the Lord.  Will you join me?  He is able.  He is love.  He wants to fill us with the fullness of Himself!  May we each understand a little more today how worthy and capable God is in handling our day to day life.  Truly, when we take control, worry, fret, become anxious and try to fix it all on our own we are saying He is not King and Master. We are saying He can't and He has proven time and time again that He can.

Join me?  Take time to pray today and give one thing at a time to the Lord.  No matter how big how small, He cares.

Jen, I loved reading this! Yes, I will join you. It’s a daily effort of submission to die to our flesh and give it ALL to HIm. Thanks for the words of encouragement and to simply be reminded of trusting the one who went to the cross. We put our trust and faith in Him for our Salvation but sometimes forget the fact that He’s ABLE to carry the load ALL THE TIME! I love it!!!!

It is all His work in us. Glad you are encouraged, Amy!
