Yesterday I was reading a blog that gave a quote about happiness being a choice.  I studied the differences in the past between joy and happiness.  Joy comes from one source...that is Jesus Christ.  The world is always searching for ways to be happy.  You always see books in book stores about how to find true happiness.  I wish they knew they were wasting their money buying it!!  The reason I was actually bringing this up was that it is true that we can choose joy or choose to sulk.  I have been struggling lately with this.  I have often chosen to cry, pout, become upset instead of stopping...praying and choosing to be joyful.  God is using many things in our lives right now to teach me this.  I've read blogs, verses and seen movies where someone has chosen joy in adversity.  I guess my thick head wasn't realizing God was speaking to me!!  This morning I had a choice.  I got up on the wrong side of the bed.  I didn't respond correctly to one of  my boys.  God spoke to my heart as I got up, grumped around and made my tea.  "It's your choice....are you going to make the best of today and chose joy or will you do what your flesh wants and waste today."  Talk about a wake up call.  Thank you Jesus. Last week I started Thankful Thursdays.  Today I am thankful for choosing joy!  Today I have chosen to be happy even if trouble comes my way.  Thank you Jesus that you provide choices for us and give us direction as we choose, if we ask.  I also love this old chair and flowers by my front door.  They make me smile! What are you thankful today?

 Psalm 28:7

The LORD is my strength and my shield;        my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.        My heart leaps for joy        and I will give thanks to him in song.
